I have a host of new pics of projects I worked on during turkey downtime that I'm going to put up on Sunday. In the meantime I just wanted to post a couple pointers for the decorating-challenged out there. One is sure to give your interior and injection of inspiration..
1) The Cottage House- Frankly I never wanted to tell anyone about this place because the deals are too damn good! However my lovely friend/client who works for Yelp already went ahed and let the cat out of the bag after I let her in on it. So caution be damned! Open only one weekend a month, the deals here are ridiculous, and each display room found in the South Minneapolis house is changed out monthly by a local designer to fit the current month's theme.
2) Read any and every book by Kelly Wearstler. I have Hue and Modern Glamour; The Art of Unexpected Style on my wish list.
3) Watch Reality T.V. guilt-free! Hunt down the show "Nine By Design" on Bravo. Absolutely fascinating to see this artistic couple balance a successful design practice and raising all them 'chitlins!' The best part though is getting to see there projects from inception through completion. Always makes me feel as though living authentically and with passion can still be done in the midst of numerous responsibilities and a sizeable dash of chaos.
4) The only kind of prize I ever brought home as a kid was for coloring, and I've been obsessed ever since. Check out this link to see some fab Dorothy Draper retro interior paint colors..http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/sf/painting-fixing-repair/dorothy-draper-paint-chips-from-benjamin-moore-063964.
Cheers!

I'm no Martha Stewart..

Eye Pillows I made filled with Rose Petals, Mint, and Ginseng. Tiniest French diorama fabric. Bananas adorable. |
Anyhow I digress. The point is I really only started making, well, ANYTHING about three months ago. Otherwise I pretty much just used to wander the aisles of Michaels with some unnameable yearning. So if I share anything particularly "crafty" with you it's simply because as a novice maybe I can learn along with all you virgin crafters how to create an outlet for that thing that will not be named.
I've been busy though lately making stocking stuffers for Christmas and just couldn't help sharing some pics. Besides not being Martha Stewart I'm obviously not a photographer either so please bear with me. I promise I'll provide better images in the months to come.

Loop scarf I made just tonight. Yarn colors are so pretty. This pic does no justice to them. |

And with this last sleep mask, Teddy bids you adieu and goodnight! |

My first blah, blah, "blahg!"

This is me. |
I have many deep, wildly random and varied obsessions that keep me up at night. Literally. Maybe by sharing them with you, dear reader, I can finally get my beauty rest! And there's something in it for you as well..being that I'm a bit of a skincare and makeup guru, perhaps I can address some of your beauty
conundrums along the way. From here on out I pledge to share with you all my latest addictions whether it be crafting tiny woolen creatures or silken sleep masks, tips on the best hidden locally-owned gems to frequent, obscure Canadian all-girl rock groups, or Chinese Chinoiserie Tobacco Holders. I sincerely hope you enjoy.. Just don't stay up past your bedtime drinking it all in!
